The cyclone originating over tropical waters
with organized convection and definite cyclone surface wind circulation is called the tropical
cyclone. It can be classified internationally by its maximum sustained wind speeds near the
center as follows:
---Tropical depression: to 62 km/h.
---Tropical storm: 62 to 88 km/h.
---Severe tropical storm: 89 to 117 km/h.
---Typhoon: 118 km/h or more.
