with organized convection and definite cyclone surface wind circulation is called the tropical
cyclone. It can be classified internationally by its maximum sustained wind speeds near the
center as follows:
---Tropical depression: to 62 km/h. ---Tropical storm: 62 to 88 km/h. ---Severe tropical storm: 89 to 117 km/h. ---Typhoon: 118 km/h or more. |
