Air mass means a large body of air whose
properties such as temperature, humidity and synoptic features are essentially homogeneous.
Air mass can be divided into cold air mass and warm air mass. It changes in properties as it
moves to different regions. This is due to the changes of physical properties of the surface
and the vertical movement etc.
