
VICENTE developed as a tropical depression over the South China Sea about 80 km (11.5¢XN,114.1¢XE) northwest of Nansha Dao and moved generally towards the north. Around 12UTC on that day, it intensified into a tropical storm near 11.2¢XN,114.8¢XE, with central pressure of 994hPa and central maximum wind of 65km/h. It kept the northerly moving and then entered the area which is 800km around Macao in the noon of 17th September. After that, its moving direction changed from north to northwest and revealed in an arc orbit.
After passing by south of Hainan in the South China Sea, VICENTE left the area which is 800km around Macao in the noon of 18th September. It made landfall over northern Vietnam in nightfall of 18th and moved to the inland further. It then dissipated over northern part of Laos the next day.
